Maple Chocolate Milk or Hot Chocolate

Aug 13

Here’s a year round super simple way to enjoy maple syrup. See Maple Endurance Recovery Drink for another. By gently heating the chocolate milk, you end up with great kid friendly hot cocoa with only ingredients you know and trust.

Scale this for the servings you need, this is about a pint worth (ie one 14 yo kid serving).

You will need:

  • Pint Mason Jar or other microwave safe glass

  • 1 3/4 cups Milk

  • 1.5 Tbs Powdered Cocoa

  • 3 Tbs Maple Syrup

  • 3 Tbs Water

  • Dash of Salt

In the jar mix Maple Syrup and Water. Microwave until almost hot, but definitely not boiling. This is 20-30 seconds in our small microwave. Add Powdered Cocoa and Salt and mix it well. There shouldn’t be any dry cocoa left. Add milk and stir. At this point you have a big serving of delicious maple chocolate milk. For hot cocoa, simply heat it up!
